Lynchburg, VA

You were camping at Shenandoah National Park and I was visiting my grandparents in VA and we met in the middle for a Friday night date in Lynchburg.  It was the first time we had actually seen each other since we had been “official”.  You had not slept for 27 hours because of working the night shift and then driving.  We went downtown to ghost-town-on-a-Friday-night Lynchburg, had tapas and wine, then beer at a lounge.  They gave you a black polo to fulfill the dress-code.  We held hands for the first time in the booth and then just before leaving you kissed me in your car in the parking lot of Sears.  I was supposed to head home around 11pm; I left at 1am.  Mom my called as we were “saying goodbye”, I got in trouble, and then I got pulled over (but no ticket!) on the way home because I was speeding.  It was one of the best dates of my life!
